Get the Lotus Learning Widget so you can have videos, reference cards, reference cards right in the product. The Lotus Learning widget is a drag and drop install. The widget works on Sametime 8.5.2 Connect Client, and versions of Sametime embedded in Notes 8.5.1 or later.

1) Enable Live Text and widgets. 1. Open the following file with a text editor: C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Sametime Connect\rcp\plugin_customization.ini 2. Set the following property to true: com.ibm.collaboration.realtime/enableSametimeLiveText=true If the property does not exist, add it to the file. 3. Save plugin_customization.ini.
2) Show Widget Toolbar. Go to File > Preferences > Widgets. Select Show Widget Toolbar and the My Widgets panel.
3) Restart Sametime to see the My Widgets panel.
4) Save the following file to disk: lotus_sametime_learning_widget_extension.xml
5) Drag and drop the widget file onto the My Widgets panel.
6) Select the Learning widget panel and start learning about Sametime!

Linux Instructions

1) Enable live text and widgets. 1, Using a text editor, with root privileges, open the file: /opt/ibm/lotus/Sametime/rcp/plugin_customization.ini For example, to use the gedit text editor, from a command prompt, type: sudo gedit /opt/ibm/lotus/Sametime/rcp/plugin_customization.ini 2. Set the following property to true: com.ibm.collaboration.realtime/enableSametimeLiveText=true If the property does not exist, add it to the file. 3. Save plugin_customization.ini. 4. Exit Sametime. 5. Restart Sametime.
3) Restart Sametime to see the My Widgets panel.
4) Save the following file to disk: lotus_sametime_learning_widget_extension.xml
5) Drag and drop the widget file onto the My Widgets panel.
6) Select the Learning widget panel and start learning about Sametime!

Mac Instructions

1) Enable Live Text and widgets. 1. In the Applications folder, right click (or Ctrl-click) on the Sametime application and choose Show Package Contents. 2. Open the following file in a text editor: Contents\MacOS\rcp\plugin_customization.ini 3. Set the following property to true: com.ibm.collaboration.realtime/enableSametimeLiveText=true If the property does not exist, add it to the file. 4. Save plugin_customization.ini.
2) Show Widget Toolbar. 1. Go to File > Preferences > Widgets. 2. Select Show Widget Toolbar and the My Widgets panel. 3. Click Apply and/or OK. 4. My Widgets panel appears.
4) Save the following file to disk: lotus_sametime_learning_widget_extension.xml
5) Drag and drop the widget file onto the My Widgets panel.
6) Select the Learning widget panel and start learning about Sametime!
